I sent my unit back to Greg at Cartech and explained to him the I'm un able to lower my total fuel pressure, I tried running it with the bleeder all the way up (virtually no rising rate) and still max out my Apex fuel guage. I'm running RC 310cc injectors, and Endyn's Bosh fuel pump, STR ful rail, and the cartech unit. The only thiing that seems to affect the pressure is the center screw for Static ful pressure just below 0 psi.

But, the bottom line is I running to rich with this set up and I'm getting about 16mpg.

Has anyone else experienced a similar situatuation? If so, what did you do to solve it?

Running this rich is not beneficial for my rings and I have noticeed some slight whiteish smoke at my tailpipe under hard acceration. BAD SIGN?

    Question

Did you install the restricter in the boost signal hose?

What is your fuel pressure at idle? Here is a quote from Jim:

quote:
Yes, your baseline (vaccuum on) should be about 26-28 psi... and your
rise rate should be no more than 3.5:1. Peak pressures at 8psi should
be about 55 to 60 psi.
Make sure you reset your ECU when you make these changes... small fuel
pressure changes when you are at pressures this low make a huge
difference to the ECU... you don't want to freak it out.

As Rjaffey has stated already, you should have both restrictors in(boost signal and bleeder). I am fortunate to have a Apexi SAFC(1st gen). It allows me to dial down fuel at set rpm points(800,2400,4000,5600,7200). Plus are you still running stock fpr. If so, then maybe you need to get a B&M FPR. With it I am able to dial down idle pressure under 30psi w/vac. If that doesn't help ask Raph about his bypass mod on the return line biggrin

There is only 1 restrictor, and the other in the bleeder hose is a check valve, so under vac it doesn't suck air.

    Tony,

I cannot believe that you are having this much trouble tuning this thing in...

Make sure that the "one way" check valve is installed in the regulator properly.

Call me if you need help.

    Jim

Yeah, I got the check valve in the right direction and all the connections are air tight, but I can't adjust the rising rate of gain, no matter which way I turn that damn bleeder.

I "may" have lost my restrictor valve, so I can only assume it to be the cause, it was in on of my original vaccum lines, but is yet to be found.
Is this restrictor valve important???? (oppps!)

The restrictor is important. Without it, the bleeder has little or no effect.

The restrictor valve is VITAL to lower your pressure. They can send you this restictor, if you lost it.
